Just suggesting we keep pressure up as we build up for new season and sportives. So a little run out to Dromara, Waringsford, Garvaghy Road Hill ( Bowlers permitted for those who wish but for safety reasons to be worn over and not under helmets), Scallion Hill, Dehommed, Dolly Brae or Bannanstown Hill depending on time and legs, approx 40 miles and 4000+ feet B to B but the views are fantastic ! Leisure group could do Dromara and back down Rathfriland road and Lackan road to Hillyard for meet up or just do own thing. 5 out today Robin, Stephen A, Trevor and Brian B who was going very well in spite of being off with injury for a long time, and self Castle Espie along new lanes 55 miles and 3400 feet on my clock.

About 30 at Brennans. Split into 3 groups. Coastal leisure, Ards speedy and Hilly. 16 went up Hilly with me. Dromara,Waringsford and then a succession of bumps along new roads and hills and spectacular scenery. You can tell you are high up when you keep going past Trig. points, mobile telephone transmitters and water towers. Also passed 4 dead badgers but cannot think Shane Savage was involved as we were up in the hills and I have never seen him there. 4200 feet and 41 miles on my garmin and kept going at a good steady pace so back on time in spite of climbing. Well done to all who were getting back to fitness especially Brian Bailie. Just on a more sombre note we went towards Castlewellan at a fast and exhilarating speed but one or two were getting a little over excited. There was some weaving, dangerous overtaking and racing going on and someone nearly got pushed into an oncoming car. Please, please take care on fast down hills and maintain a straight position in the line, we really do not want a serious accident in the club.
