About 25 out today in beautiful sunshine. Robin dishing out tyres at the bargain price of 95p each, so club well supplied for punctures for next year. Shane set off with about 10 including his faithful harem around the coast. Quicks and Steadys out to Leitrim, then along new roads past the old signal box and station at Ballyroney exciting all the old nerdy ex-trainspotters. Then out west along lanes which looked like the only living organism which had ever been there before us was the moss growing down the middle. Then we reached the "Bad Boyo" Knockinveigh Hill and suddenly the merry banter and jest stopped. Dead silence apart from the frequent curse and the screeching of a tyre slipping on the greasy 19% incline. Consolation being the views which were superb. Then split up with Quickies off and away and met up at Hillyard. 43 miles and 3600 feet so need plenty of Cabernet Sauvignon to rub into the aching legs.
