Pat and I caught up with Joe just past McGrath's Shop, Annacloy. Told him that Ollie had gone back from the Quoile to Killyleagh to look for him, he said it serves "the Dick" right. The cream buns were still firmly tucked up in the ruck-sac and weren't offered to us. Was wondering when he got home to Stephen and Jimmy who would not get a cream bun, or would Joe sneak them into his bedroom and scoff both of them. Caught him "licking his lips" all the way home.

Nine (Pat, Joe, Oliver, Ralph, Shane, Gerry, Paul, Trevor and Robin) started off from the Bucks Head on Friday 11 Oct on a crisp, bright Autumn morning. Shane just back from his 3 week break in Florida and showing off a bristling tan that made the rest of us look sickly. After some slagging about Shane in the States we managed to get rolling on the bikes, headed down through Annadoran and then took a right turn up to Seaforde where Paul left us for home by the main road. The rest of us went the usual route to Newcastle by way of Clanvaraghan. Dined in Nickys where Tracey and Hayley joined us from their mountain bike escapade in Tullymore. After some tasty bites we all except Robin (who accompanied Tracey and Hayley home) left for home by way of the main road. A great days cycling and craic was had by all on a lovely Autumn day. Denis still suffering from his chest cold and we hope he recovers soon and is able to join the mid week team.

Wed, 30 Oct. Gale force winds blowing and forecast of heavy rain by mid-day kept most of our mid-week cyclists at home or in their bed, But a few hardy cyclists were not put off by the inclement weather. Brian Bailie, Niall McK and Catherine and myself set off from the Bucks Head in the direction of Ardglass via Bucks Head road. It as a tough push all the way into the strong wind , with Catherine showing that she is not far off keeping with the "A" team. After a welcome snack in Ardglass we headed the shortest way home by way of Downpatrick, Flying Horse, Vainstown Road and Ballydugan, with the worst of the rain not starting until we were about Russell's Auto Sales. Home wet through but not too cold.

6 cyclists turned up today at the Bucks Head (Ollie, John F, Dermott, Niall McK. Trevor and off course myself). It was a beautiful calm Autumn morning and we all headed off taking the main road to Crossgar, Saintfield and Killyleagh where we called at Hot Cross for refreshments. Trevor and I were struggling with "tongues out" most of the way to keep up with the other four who had adopted the "head down" and "bums up" position for most of the way. The onslaught continued as we were also dropped on the way from Killyleagh to the Quoile. John, Ollie and Niall left us at the Quoile to go straight to Downpartick. A good days cycling on a lovely Autumn day.

First Friday run I have had the pleasure of reporting on since last October, ten out today, Paul Ireland and Mullan, Ollie, Joe, Pat, Shane, Gerry, BrianB Trevor and myself, I only joined the group at my houseon a lovely sunny morning , a bit blowy as well, by the time they got to my house, Trevot had already got a puncture and lost his gloves , Joe got the blame for the glove loss, we all headed to Trevors house for gloves and on into the wind to Ardalea where Ted was sitting parked waiting on us, we all headed on to Newcastle for lunch in Nikki's.After refreshments Paul presented Ted with a jacket from Teds bike shop in Donegal, a lovely gesture which Ted really appreciated. We then headed down the road for home minus the two Pauls, Ollie then left in Dundrum and Gerry and Brian B left at Ardelea, Joe, Pat and Shane then accompanied me on home, Joe was looking for some of Angela's apple tart which he did not get as he now said I was sleeping with a granny now. All in all a great day out and a big thank you to all for helping me along and waiting on me, The fact that I was able to do 25 miles was a great lift to my spirit, I just hope it can be built on.Roll on next week
