Weather looking good for weekend so maybe ok for Aidans route up Spelga. Would meet as usual at Brennans but pick up Aidan at Bloody Bridge at 10.15 and then along road running parallel to Head Road down to Kilkeel and then up to Attical along side roads. Coffee break at Attical around 12 . Then can split, either going up to Dam or going back along the Head Road. Need to give café an estimate of numbers on Saturday so let me know if there is any reason why we would not do run and indicate on the site or facebook as to whether you are likely to be doing the run so I can give Aidan a rough estimate. About 55 mile return trip. Sorry Marty and Sammy that we all stood you up last week.

Gentle reminder, only 8 people including myself have confirmed for Sunday. Would appreciate any further additions by lunchtime tomorrow so we can give café rough estimates for scones. Thanks.

Twenty six people out in all including guests Michael and Paul, hope they come again. Brisk run to Newcastle dodging heavy traffic and then along the scenic Majors Hill/Longstone road. Bypassing Kilkeel and then another great view over Carlingford Lough picking up mobile phone signal from across the Border. Up to Atticall to Mourne Lodge for an enjoyable and welcoming coffee break. Very pleasant and obviously discerning lady because she chose Jimmy BlueEyes aka Wee Buns and myself to escort to the bedrooms. Back up to the Dam with excellent visibility for a change. A really good day out. On my garmin 58 miles, 3800 feet climb, average moving speed 16.4 mph. Thanks very much Aidan for planning the route and organising the coffee break, a memorable run.

Thanks to Aidan and Max for an epic run yesterday around parts of the world I had never set eyes on before..started to look for road signs in Irish as our mobiles came in with texts telling us we were roaming ..there is another description for it by the time I got to the top of spelga..great day out.75 miles and busted.
