As I was unable to cycle Sunday, I went walking with my wife instead and just by chance happened to visit the route around Carlingford which I talked about at AGM. It is very spectacular and in parts challenging. The route is very similar to the one on the Cycling Ireland website although I think the better start point would be Carlingford rather than Newry. Anyway I enclose the link to CI website if you are interested to see photos and also a video which shows road up to top of Clermont Cairn. It is a bit deceptive as it looks flat but is actually 3 miles longand varies between 8 to 19% so is in reality flattish which fits well with our standard routes. cycleireland.ie/slieve-gullion-cycle-loop/
