Shimna Wheelers are organizing a two day trip to New Ross in County Wexford 165 miles from Newcastle on day one and the same back on day two.The reason is because Newcastle is twinned with New Ross. They have invited members of our club to come along on this challenge. It is in June ,final dates to be confirmed. Anyone who is interested can contact Pat Gibney on 07711896747 for more info. There would be an overnight stay in Hotel in New Ross and would be an opportunity to raise money for some charity like Shimna House. They done this trip twenty years ago and would like to do it again. And our club has been approached to send members as well.

Hi Denis, sounds challenging but if I was to take part the overnight stay for me would be in the A&E department of New Ross community hospital !!!!

Downpatrick is twinned with Listowel - only 425 km ... now that would be a challenge. Quite like the idea of a big run like that 165 miles, gonna have a sore backside by then

I've always liked the idea of east coast to west coast and back. Ballyhornan to Rosses Point, Silgo 148 mile. Sunrise to Sunset, chase the sun. Anybody interested let me know how they get on. 296 miles = 1 sore arse.
