Just A thread to keep you updated on the state of Ralph who came off badly on some black ice this morning at the Annacloy crossroads.
He has broken his hip and will have an operation tomorrow.
If anyone hears more can they please update this thread.
Denis and Robin put forward the idea of having a warning process for frost and unrideable conditions. I think it is valid but we would need to think about the way to do it.

I was really shocked & saddened to hear of Ralphs fall on Sunday, I do hope he gets his required surgery asap & that he's able to make a full recovery, lets hope that 2014 brings better luck to the members of LLRCC, wishing all our members & friends a very happy, healthy & safe new year.

Update - not a broken hip but a break of the femur just 1" from the head, necessitating a steel pin to be placed in the bone today or tomorrow.
Robin called in with him in RVH and told me the details.

Hi all quick update on Ralph, he is now in Musgrave Park Hospital, Withers unit ward 6B on the 2nd floor for those of you who may want to visit him, he is in good spirits but undergoing intense physio therapy as his leg is very stiff post op ! no discharge date yet but as soon as I get any further details I will let you all know.

Hi everybody just to let everyone know i am now home and on the long road to recovery.I would like to thank everybody for their kind thoughts and messages of support and also those who visited me in hospital and wish everybody a happy 2014 and rembember cycle safe
