Good luck to LLRCC competitors (Damian & Robin I think) at tomorrow's Annaclone road race, Denis & I are cycling up if anyone wants to join us, meeting at Pat Gibney's @ 0930.

Just noticed a photo on the cycling ulster report of todays race......great to see the lanterne blue jerseys of Robin and Hayley at the start line at Annaclone.

Good result for Hayley today at Crumlin. She came 2nd in the Phoenix GP Woman's race today which was a very close finish for 1st and 2nd place and a small gap in between for the rest of the bunch. There was 24 riders in the woman's race, Hayley seemed to do a lot of work at the front today, but great to see she has got her nerve back and did not get dropped on the down hills Myself and Damian a had a good day too. There was 60 in our race and the pace was very fast to say the least. Myself and Damian finished together in the bunch sprint. I was really pleased with myself as I was quite negative at the start of the race and had nearly convinced myself that I would probably pull out after the first lap. I suppose part of this was when the organisers told me the average would be around 24mph. Believe it or not that what it was has I forgot to stop the Garmin as I went over the line and stopped it after I had cooled down. I am now looking forward to more racing and hopeful this season I will finish in the placings at some event in the near future. Thanks Damian for your help today we made sure that no one was going to ride away from us today especially the fellow that won at Annaclone yesterday. I think I hit my 191 heartbeat the day riding down his attacks, I feel we worked well together today on counter attacks. We just need to perfect our sprint finishes!!! Great result for Hayley. Very impressive stuff. I know there is going to be a good few first placings this year for you.
Robin you went really well today it was great that the two of us worked together and covered the breaks. It was always going to be a bunch sprint finish. First weekend of racing done and I really enjoyed it. Bring on the next one
