Forecast for Sunday looks ok at present. Suggest going Teconnaught, Girvan's Lane End , Temple Golf Club, Boardmills, Crossan, Annahilt back to Spa along the lanes and back. Did the route once last year, about 38 miles almost entirely country lanes from Brennans to Brennans, reasonably flat with a few bumps but nothing desperate. Good breakpoint to split two groups would be Annahilt after crossing main road and onto lane which comes straight back to Newline Road, giving quicker group about 13 miles to Brennans. Will need to keep eye on weather as I will have to order scones in advance from golf club.

Weather still looking ok. No frost, lighter winds and occasional showers but generally dry. Taken a chance and ordered about 24 scones, so hope to see you there!

Had about 34 out today, which I am told, could be a club record for a Sunday run. Frantic phone calls to up the number of scones and then off to Annacloy. With such large numbers, we decided to split into 2 groups of about same size. Along the lanes with the odd lump or two and meeting up at Temple Golf club. Restaurant owner Fergal had managed a 5 loaves and 2 fishes and everyone seemed to get a scone, there was even a suspicion the quicker group went around twice. Warmed up by a roaring log fire we went outside to face the mizzle. Split again and had about 4 groups going off in different directions and speeds. My group did about 35 miles, 1600 feet and kept up a good steady pace. You may be pleased to hear that I am away for a while. Hunting bear and bison, cross-country skiing and child-minding my grand-daughter. I have no doubt the latter activity will be the most hazardous and exhausting. Happy cycling.
