Hi folks
Just wanted to say a big thanx to all at LLRCC regarding our highly acclaimed 2014 OTQ.
I say highly acclaimed, because the feedback I have been hearing is fantastic and again proves that we have a vibrant, popular and very sucessful cycling club, of which you should all be proud.
Our cycling events showcase what our club is all about, not only to other cycling clubs and our official sporting body Cycling Ireland, but just as importantly to our general community.
I have heard feedback such as 'LLRCC could teach our club a thing or two about cycling events'.
This comment refers to everyone at the club, whether immediatley involved in the organistion of the event, or doing the hard part and actually taking part!!
I will not attempt to name individuals but I would like to pay a special thanks to the folks who made sure we were watered and fed at the various feedstops and helped with registration.
Again thanks everyone for the support you have shown the club and when you eventually get your new kit, wear it with pride!!
Thanks
Niall

Dermot's article in local press for Over the Quoile
The Loughinisland based La Lanterne Rouge Cycle Club recently held the first of its 3 annual charity sportives. The “Over The Quoile” event took place on Sunday 25 May and despite forecast of heavy showers the event was well supported with 165 cyclist signing up to do either the 40 or 80 mile route. The club would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to all who took part, helped with sign on, marshalled the route and helped with refreshments also Loughinisland GAC for use of their club rooms. Although some riders got caught in the rain, a good days cycling was had and excellent food at the Cuan and back at GAC club rooms this was the general comment from those who took part. The club along with Shimna Wheelers and Kilinchy have now contested 3 Time Trails with more to follow. So far the main honours have gone to Kilinchy and Shimna with Lanterne Rouge gaining a credible 3rd place on Lacken Road courtesy of Stephen Heasley. The club is still enjoying increased membership with an average of 30 cyclist out on the Sunday club run with cyclists splitting into 2 or more groups according to pace and distance they wish to undertake. A coffee / tea stop always factored in. So if you fancy some company while cycling or want to try out your fitness on a TT course check out the details of upcoming TTs and next sportive on the club web site or face book page.
