Seven out today on our midweek run,Trevor,Dermot ,Gerry,Pat,Joe,Michael o S and myself ,we headed over the Rocks Chapel rd ,Bells hill,Scaddy Derryboye where Dermot went via Saintfield, the rest to Killyleagh for tea and coffee, Michael then headed for home the rest back across country to Bucks head and home very cold and blowy day but enjoyable and were warm enough when we kept moving. We phoned Ted today when we were out and two or three of use got talking to him,he was in good form and said he hoped to be able to leave hospital in about 6 or 7 weeks , he was very positive, which is a good sign. 38-40 miles for most of us when home ,I was a bit stiff after last nights mtb and took a bit of time to get going today.

Just 5 out today on our run ,first in a fortnight, Gerry,Ollie,Shane,Trevor and myself we headed across country to Ardglass ,very cold but dry and bright, plenty of clothing needed, after a break for tea and coffee, gerry and ollie headed straight home as the could not stick the pace,us other three headed on via Ballycruttle to Saul where we visited Shanes house so he could check if all ok,we politely turned down more tea and a lift home in his Porche ,would not hold all the bikes. We headed on back to Bucks Head and home 44 or so miles on clock and a very enjoyable run.Went to see Ted last night along with Pat Davey and found Ted to be in a very positive mood ,It was a bit emotional at times but we had a long chat with him and stayed for about three hours before we were thrown out, anyway it was great to see him and he was asking about you all,we can all just hope and pray that he makes a good recovery soon.

Four out on Friday Short in numbers but with Gerry, Pat D, Joe and myself we had plenty of Anno Domini. Went out to Killyleagh where Joe bought a tin opener , presumably to open a can of beans to go with his sausage rolls at the cafe. Pleasant run in rather warmer weather but a few showers. Had a good new route planned for Sunday, which Marty and I tested on Wednesday but forecast shows winds of up to 45 mph tomorrow and as it is a bit hilly I will save it for an easier day. Happy birthday Trevor.

Four of us out bright and early out at 9 am on Tuesday. Marty, Dermot, Michael O'S and myself. Went to Hillsborough along back roads and over through the Maze Racecourse, an area known only to racegoers and those who have done Her Majestys Pleasure, but pleasant agricultural land.. Testing a route for a future Sunday. Very windy and rather hilly and Michael needed to get back so we went at a fair old pace, but weather fine and legs building up for next week.

Just five out today on midweek run,Pat,Joe,Gerry,Paul and myself, went across country to Ardglass, nice tea and scones then home by Ballee,Ballycruttle,Ballyalton,Saul Quoile and back to Bucks Head. Nice run on a nice day,One funny instance we had was when another cyclists stopped with us at Bucks Head as we were ready to set off,He asked were we all retired and who was the oldest ,Pat proudly stuck out his chest and said he was nearly 71 and the eldest ,this man looked about the same age as pat and he told us he had just cycled from Skettrick, had tea in Brennans and was cycling back home ,he had just got over bowel cancer from last year and thought nothing of cycling 100 miles a day,he was aged 86,talk about taking the wind out of Pats sails or all of us for that matter, hope for us all yet, where will we all be at that age,
