7 cold downshire escapees headed into the forest - Barney, Niall, Niall, Coby,Shane,John and myself. bits of snow, but the flurries were lit up by the helmet lights leaving us snow blinded - made for an interesting run - especially when chased by bigfoot. Quickish puncture repair from Shane and onward. we all took the mud chute - with Barney getting the prize for most elegant dismount, a sort of slide, bump almost over the bars then sideways role, cheers of admiration were abundant, but no film was taken.
at the tunnel we slip into two group with Shane, Coby and Niall McK heading up past the house and the rest of us down and past the campsite for the rooty slog up the hill, unfortunately I punctured and replaced it with a 50%tube 50% plaster combo which lasted all of 300 yards, so stop2 and put on a proper tube and all was well for the run home. I had 19.6 miles on clock so we must have done 13.6 in te trails - fast hilly and tough, one of the hardest runs on the old mtb in a while.
