Sunday forecast looks not too bad at present, so here is a suggested new route. Goes to Dromara, Waringsford, Gall Bog Road, Ballela, Deehommed, Loughisland Reavy Reservoir and up to Castlewellan for coffee at Hillyard House. Quite hilly, about 3500 feet climb but all along pleasant country lanes with great views of Mournes on way back and in areas not often seen by us at least not in my time anyway. Distance Brennans to coffee stop about 37 miles then do your own thing. Brennans to Brennans 48 miles Downpatrick to Downpatrick 57 miles. Any views ? connect.garmin.com/course/3261052

I really enjoyed today's run. Thanks to Max for planning the route. I think the route master award should go to you this year max It was also nice to get chatting to people i haven't seen in a while due to recent races and majorca! See you soon, Hayley.

Thanks Hayley, glad you enjoyed the route. 19 out. Damian, Dermot, Pat and Pat, Niall C, Robin, Hayley, Brian, Marty, Sammy, Michael, Aiden, Adrian, Jimmy, Joe, Trevor, Peter and friend Mark and self. Apologies if someone is left out. Lost Pat and Joe after about 3 miles , not sure if they turned off route by mistake or just decided to do a shorter route. Damien left soon after to go to a birthday party and Aiden left at Dromara as he only wanted a short run. Robin had puncture near Waringsford and due to confusion over another immediate puncture, Robin, Sammy, Peter and Mark got separated from group. Rest followed on over the planned route with great views to the Mournes on an increasingly bright day. Got back to Hayward House in Castlewellan for coffee where we met up with Robin and Sammy. A pleasant run out with Brennans to Brennans 46 miles at 14.5 mph, not bad considering we climbed 3900 feet. Please note to those that do not understand my sense of humour, that when we are hammering along at 30+ mph and I say jokingly "Can we not go a bit faster", its a joke and there is no need to respond.

I agree with Hayley club-man of the year for Max. You put some effort into planning local and international routes good on you. Had my niece's 1st birthday this afternoon so I headed out early this morning to get the miles in. I am heading out tomorrow morning for a few hours if anybody fancies it.

Hail Maximus!! Yes Max I agree with Dee and Hayley. The work you put in on behalf of the club is fantastic and much appreciated by us all. I know you enjoy this routemaster business but it still requires a heck of a lot of research. It was great at the hillyard just walking into our own wee function room where the coffee and scones awaited I hear Marty has a wee route in mind so mayb you can get together with him and we can do that one in the future. Good luck to our chairman who is running in the Belfast marathon tomorro. heart of a lion that man!

Yes Max another great route even though I had not a clue where I was . Sam ,mark, robin and I made our way back via Windy gap and Leitrim after getting a little lost for 5 minutes. Hit the Bann road with a tailwind and then Mark and I left Sam and Robin at the Hillyard. Great route and scenry as Mark wanted to know what part of the Alps we were in ! . Brilliant running from Steve, congtatulations.
