Weather looking good for Sunday so I am going to do the Southern Ards route. Have a couple of takers already but anyone else who wants to come be at Quoile car park at 9.30 to catch 10.30 ferry. Had thought about making it earlier and catching previous ferry but that makes a rather early start . Details under section Southern Ards. There are a number of shortcuts back so those wanting to be home earlier can easily be back to Portaferry for 12.45 and back at Quoile for 1.30 otherwise with coffee break it would be 2.30pm at Quoile. Anyone wanting a lift from Ballynahinch area , let me know because I have a spare slot on my bike rack

I am suggesting the 10.30 ferry which should be fine. The 10 am would need us away from Quoile at not long after 9am which is a bit early

A few people have asked about getting back earlier Can we all make it 9.15 at Quoile catch the 10 am boat and keep going steadily Those that want to get back early can return to Quoile for 1 pm on that schedule and others stop at Cuan for coffee and back for 1.30

18 out today with 2 rendez-vous at Quoile and Strangford. Negotiated the sea crossing with no men overboard and on up coast, then cross country across gentle farming land and then south again along the coast. Some straight for home, church or pub , some for a coffee. A Kenyan won Le Tour yesterday, a bunch of Welshmen won the rugby, a Scotsman won Wimbledon and an Irishman Dan Martin won Le Tour today. So where were the English ? Pleased to tell you that Dan Martin was like me born and bred in Birmingham. For me 46 miles average speed 16.6 mph, 2700 feet climbed connect.garmin.com/activity/338839812

Yes max another great run with quiet roads..the view from the return ferry sailing showed co down at its very best . Colm mark and myself had meet at 7.30 and completed 20 odd miles before meeting the crew at the quoile , 63 miles in great weather...and by the way Max ,Graeme McDowell won the French open golf today..

There were also 4 of us on the coastal route today (45 miles at 16.1 mph). I had to be home early so did not go to the Ards but the other 3 (Jagger, Paul Ireland and Gary Mason) were unaware of the Ards cycle. So it was fortunate that I was at Brennan's to guide them.
